First advice: DON’T unscrew from the bottom to turn switch on!! (I added a pic)You have to lightly squeeze the clear part in so that the bottom pops out.This came with a booklet but no instructions on how to open the casing in order to turn on the switch!!!!!!!!I thought I was going to break it.I actually unscrewed the bottom of the base and realize the screws were for the solar panel!! It fell inside the casing! (Photo of what not to unscrew added)I put the screws back on and continued to try and find out how to open it.I realized you have to pull it apart from the bottom.I added a photo where you can see the very small peg that locks into place. (4th photo) Just squeeze and it will pop off.After I figured out how to turn it on, it was easy to install on the post.I also added a photo of its brightness inside the house with room lights off. (One cap is on and the other is off) And another photo outside on the posts at night.Pretty bright I have to say, but don’t expect for it to light up an area that’s a few feet away from it. Or the ground entirely. (In the photo I added you can see behind the entry way, the further away from the lights, the darker it gets.) If you want to light up a walkway, you will need to add a light onto every post.It’s definitely great for an entrance way and it adds some ambiance.It was perfect for what I was looking for.Another negative beside how to turn it on: its made of cheap plastic and doesn’t match the post. The color is not the same. The white is a brighter white on the light casing because it’s a different material than the post. I don’t mind that. The price was right for these lights. 2 in one box.I’ve had these lights outside through sun and rain for 2 weeks now and so far so good.Before I ordered these lights I took off the caps to my posts and measured the inside of the caps where it goes onto the post and it was 5 x 5. Perfect fit and I haven’t used the screws it came with. They haven’t fallen off.
