Multitasking.I do not know how long these will last or whether they eat batteries. When I know if it is addendum worthy, I will edit this review with updates.BUT this is JUST what I need. The light shines out and down a little bit so that it honestly DOES dimly but efficiently light your path hands-free. I worried that the pendant would be too short and so my own body/bust/coat/scarf layered silhouette would block the light, but NOT SO!It does move with your footsteps as you walk along, but the rectangle of light it casts downward and outward is large enough that the shaking does not have a flashing effect (which would make me dizzy!)As I promised, I will update if I experience anything that seems helpful. If I do not, take it to mean I have no complaints even after longer-term usage.I am delighted. My winter walks in the dark will be just that much more simple.Got these for my 3-yo for our camping trip. She will take off a head lamp, and isn't reliable carrying a flashlight, so we wanted a solution that would keep her lit-up and visible in the dark. These necklaces are perfect! She can click them on and off herself, and open and close them too. The hands-free light is very convenient, and it's not blindingly bright. The bulb is angled so that the light shines down and not up into the face when you're wearing it. We've also used them as hanging lights around the campsite. One star knocked off because I wish the neck size was adjustable more easily, or they came in little kids sizes. You can stretch out the little loop and pull the other side through to shorten the length, but then you have this long silicone "tail" that gets tangled in hair if the kids (or me) are wearing it around the neck. Not a big deal though. It's a lot of fun for the kids to open the necklaces and hang other things on them to carry around camp with the light.I'm a night shift RN. This has been perfect for entering patients' rooms without having to flip on the room's overhead lights when making rounds. I pull meds from a lockbox in each patient's room, as well as do my patient care charting/documenting on the computer in each patient's room. With this product, I don't have to flip on the overhead lights anymore. When wearing one of our porous isolation gowns (ours are yellow), the light on this product is able to shine through the gown adequately. (I'm not sure how well it works with the nonporous isolation gowns - the ones you wear for C-diff, etc.). I have the beginning of cataracts, so I have those "cloudy halos" from the bright computer screen while trying to look through darkness for the keyboard. This product helps illuminate the keyboard enough to counteract the halo effect. I bought this product I think in March 2016. I am on the second necklace, although I didn't allows wear the first necklace each shift and/or I didn't need to use it for every room I entered.Although this product works very well for my purposes, I would like to see a product with stronger lighting or perhaps low-high capabilities. Don't need any flashing lighting, please.We’ve used these lights twice during 15-minute walks and the black one doesn’t work well! It takes many times to punch the button for the light to stay consistently on! (Seems like the button is loose or something?) We will be returning these this week.I own a pet sitting business and now that some walks are happening at night I wanted something easier than carrying around a flashlight. Found these and thought I would give them a try. First day I got them I had a night walk. Was super light around my neck, had a nice bright light that lit up a small radius of the dogs as they walked, didn't shine in my eyes, even helped when I had to pick up their mess and its helps cars see me. Happy to not have another item to hold.Love the concept. Well made product.Unfortunately the light beam really needs a redesign to add "up-down" adjustment to make it really useful. As is, you have to stick out your chest to get the beam to hit the keyboard when typing at night (think Health care worker, and night shift, for 'but why bother?')Pluses: Plastic is easily cleaned (think 'Healthcare worker'.) You'll be glad to know the joining is breakaway, so if someone with altered mental status grabs it to try and strangle you, they won't succeed, it'll just pull off. Always a plus. Also, its lightweight, so if they then elect to throw it at you, its probably not an issue.While the design is limited in what it illuminates, it still gives you some visibility to use while not waking folks in the room you are checking on.I bought this product solely because I needed a hands free flashlight to walk my dog at night and, while still goofy looking, this product is much less dorky than a headlamp. The area that I walk my dog has streetlights that are a quarter of a mile apart, so it is dark enough to need a light but not truly pitch black. My path has relatively flat ground and I generally stay either on the sidewalk or within a few feet of it. This product works perfectly for this type of use. The light is bright enough to see a few feet ahead but not so bright that it would shine into someone's house or be a nuisance to cars driving by.Very easy to put on, stays on well, and simple to use. Light is bright enough to light your path approximately 4 feet ahead. Price is very low compared to name brand options.
