Not inexpensive, but considering the components used, quality of construction and user replaceable components, it is very good value for money spent. I opened the light to check the internals on receipt and was impressed by the attention to detail and quality of the assembled lamp. Wiring is neat and so is machining. Meanwell drivers and Cree chips are used, along with a brushless cooling fan, high quality German electrical connectors and stainless and brass grommets and screws. Even the included power cord is heavier than comparable products with more substantial feeling prongs and thicker insulation. So far light performs flawlessly. I have had to adjust distance from plants (increase) multiple times to prevent wilting/burning since output is so strong. Currently running light 3 feet over young tomatoes. My only gripes about this light is that for half the cost, competitors offer a very similar product albeit with lesser quality components and build. However, those lights can be daisy-chained, and have adjustable settings to control brightness for various stages of growth. To help differentiate this lamp, it would be nice if these features very available as well--without having to pony up for the 200w version. That said, I might be tempted because, ultimately, this light is very impressive! If you’re looking for a high quality light this is it. You can’t do much better than Cree CXB3590 leds and Meanwell drivers, both are well known for their excellent performance and reliability. The fan is very quiet and the light runs cool so it can be put in small spaces if needed. I cannot feel any noticeable heat coming out of the vents while the light is running. I started using a pair of these and I could immediately see the plants reaching or “praying” for the light. They are happy and very responsive to it.This light is VERY bright. The cobs have good light penetration with a very natural light spectrum, and the lens helps to give a good spread to the light so that it’s not too focused straight down. They are also small and light weight making it easy to use in any area you plan to grow in.These come packaged well and discrete if that is an issue for you (a blank box shipped in an Amazon box). There should be no issues with lights getting damaged during shipping.I tried these lights on a few grows. They seem to be missing the lower end, Uv/a Uv/b.If you try them you can tell by the lack of need for protective eyewear, you can feel the difference. It also shows in the loss of trichome production. Also, not particularly bright. Would make for a nice reading lamp. Kind of pricey and unattractive for that purpose though. I have no way of measuring the spectrum, I am going by the lack of needing protective eyewear and the inferior quality of grown product.I previously purchased the 200w CF Grow COB light, and wanted to get the 100w single light one to hang in a row. The 100w version does not have a dimmer knob, which is okay. The problem is that the 100w does not appear to be as bright as the same lamp on my 200w version. I was expecting all three lamps (the 100w and the two 100’s on the 200w version) to be equally bright. On the 100 watt model I am getting 400 PAR at 18" measuring using an Apogee PAR meter. This is less than claimed but decent condidering the low power draw.I think the 200 watt model would be good for a 2' x 4' grow area at about 18".The light is well packaged and appears to be well built. The COB is bigger than I thought it'd be! Confirmed Mean Well driver! So far from what I can tell, it's worth every penny in quality components and construction. Beats building a Diy cob lighting kits. Other then that the Kelvin temp looks like 6500Kv. I would love to see these made with 3500Kv cob option tho. Thanks C.F. Grow!Works great, bright, relatively cool... might want something higher wattage for bigger plants. The Q and A section that mentions a dimmer that is not in the pictures but on the actual unit doesn’t apply to the 100watt model I received: there is no dimmer at all... and that’s not alright. Had I known that there was no dimmer I wouldn’t have purchased this item.I will say that the unit appears to be well-made. So CF grow did build a quality product here with this 100watt unit, I’m just very frustrated that it doesn’t have a dimmer when the description for the product at the time I purchased it did not make that clear. If the seller could get in touch with me, I would appreciate exchanging this unit for the 200 watt unit - of course I will pay the difference in price. Otherwise, I will have to return the unit...Returning the unit without a substitute for the interim will damage my garden. I’m further irritated that because this unit lacks a dimmer I was forced to place it much higher up - this has led to some of the worst stretch I have ever seen in very young plants. I’m not sure what’s worse - the stretch or the risk of light-burn.In any event this error has damaged my garden already - seller, please update the description of the 100 watt and clearly state that, unlike every other configuration that you sell, it DOES NOT HAVE A DIMMER!Update 1 -*-*-*-*-UPDATED*-*-*-*1. This seller now operates under the name Canagrow and sells the exact same lights at almost half the price.2. This seller did not respond to my concerns at all.3. Nonetheless, I changed the 2 star review to 4 stars because of the significant response from my plants. The plants love this light. They were being vegged under platinum P 300 LED blurple, not cheap lights, and were doing alright - when this light was added growth appears to have actually doubled within a 24 hour period. I’ve never seen that before. I have read reviews claiming certain lights made an instant difference and I ignored statements to that effect... but now it has happened to me and I am compelled to say so.5. I don’t like this seller and I realize that this review will help their sales. I have mixed feelings about that - you can save yourself some money by buying from CANAGROW (same units from the same seller via alibaba or even Amazon USA).Bottom Line:- Build quality seems excellent- Astonishing and almost immediate plant response to only 100watt of this light which was added to existing P300 Platinum LED blurple during early veg stage. That plant response may have been exaggerated by the fact that the full-spectrum light this unit puts out makes growth much easier to observe when compared with blurple.I’ll also note that the light is at the same height as the platinum LEDs and the plants previously showed signs of LED heat-stress... which I was going to evaluate and correct. After 6 hours exposure to this light, which was in addition to the existing lights and without other changes, the heat stress disappeared - leaves went into “praying” and are all now normal 48 hours later on a 24-0 cycle.Seller: I still want that dimmer. As you can see, my reviews are honest with or without your support - you built a decent light even though it was not as described. Please Note: I will update this in several days as I have both the 200 watt model and an HLG quantum board of the same wattage on the way.I will compare the 200watt to the 100watt model. The seller has not contacted me or made any arrangements to swap the 100 for the 200.I will run the 100 watt until the 200 watt arrives. I may be able to post pictures in the update demonstrating growth over time.—————Update TWO——————-1. seller is totally useless and has still not replied to me.2. I nonetheless ordered the 200watt and have been running it along side an HLG 100, the 100 Cree, Platinum P300s and ...3. The 200 watt IS dimmable and appears to be almost perfect. The entire garden reacted so well to that 100watt that I kept it even without the dimmer and even though this seller may as well not exist.4. Adding the 200w dimmed to 30% caused the garden to explode - I don’t know what is happening here but it is incredible.5. The HLG quantum board runs so much hotter than anything else I have that I switched it off. The 200watt, 100watt and the P300s run together in a symphony of artificial light that inspires these plants to dance - I don’t know how or why but these diodes just double the growth of the garden. And I did not cheap out on the other lights I own.Bottom Line:Subject to durability over time, the 200watt unit is amazing - the 100 watt unit does produce amazing results but it needs a dimmer.Given the results I have now seen, if I had to decide which lights to buy all over again I would skip my HLG QB, skip my Platinum LED’s and buy either one 200watt or two 200watt.I will update if anything goes wrong with these excellent lights or if this seller proves it exists - if anything happens to these lights, a nonexistent seller will be a serious problem. Keep that last bit in mind.I ordered 2 of the 100w lights. One came out of the box rattling. Not going to plug it in and test. Not sure what came loose or broken so I'll have to return one. Which screws up my planting schedule. But I haven't tried the second non rattling light yet. Will update laterUpdate.Once I removed the cover plate it was the driver that had come loose. I attached it back on with the nuts that were there loose. It is now working perfectly fine. Easy fix thankfully.Update 2So far after a month and abit of using the 100w to start seedlings i can say for sure this is not a very effective seedling light. Caused them to stretch alot due to having to hang the light abit higher then normal. If it had a dimmer this light would be an amazing little machine.2 of my plants are getting some leaf curling even with the light aprx 38" above.I will say that the growth and color of the plants looks great so far they just got alittle top heavy with all the stretch. Will update later in vegSo far I'm giving a four-star and only because I didn't get any paperwork what do unit it would have liked to get information on the unit spect and pars. It might be just a mistake I'm wondering if anybody else had the same experience. But I can tell compared to the 2 unit I have if you care to watch the video you will notice the difference between the generic cheap LED which are not bad I might say specially from this company but a step higher is well worth it which is this unit. I choose the single unit because I find it easier to space it around and align it perfectly where I want over my plant. So I will buy two more after I finish testing this one. So watch the video and see for yourself. It says in the booklet that it draws 58-68 watts. Mine draws around 58. It has decent growth though for it's draw.
