Technically yes it lights up. But functionally useless if you're planning on using this to read something at a dimly lit area of your desk (since a pen holder seems a primary intention). Also not very responsive at all to touch control.However it is cute - got it so my little girl might like it. And it's cheap. Get what you pay for in this case.This lamp is adorable. I use it as a desk lamp and can't get over how cute it is. It's not super bright even on the highest setting, but it does work really good. I would buy againThis is so cute.
