The light is an additional beautiful piece to a gorgeous baby grand piano! I can see everything so wellI am piano professor whose uses the piano everyday. My students come in different sizes and so do their music scores. After the (desk) lamp I'd used for the piano broke, I thought that it was time to invest into something nicer, more convenient, and saves the space on the piano. After reading different reviews on this product from other websites and reviews on other models of House of Troy piano lamps, I decided that I would give it a try.The lamp I received had a VERY wobbly head that it swings and rattles. When that might have been just for that particular item, the lamp really would not work for me because of other reasons.1. The "clam" part was too small to clip onto my music stand. (Mine is thicker.)2. There is no height adjustment. The curve you see on the picture here is NOT for adjusting. Therefore, if you have a shorter music stand, (which my Mason & Hamlin does,) or if you have a bigger (taller) music score, it would not fit under the light. Even if it does, you would have trouble turning pages.While it is not cheap to begin with, it is a shame for Amazon to carry such a lousy product at such a steep price. So after coming out of the box for five minutes, the lamp went right back in and is heading back to Amazon, at their cost.This is a good lamp and high quality. It is as advertised. The only problem is that it is very expensive. There appears to be only one manufacturer of quality piano lamps and they charge way too much for what it is.This light is not only beautiful it cast the exact amount of light on the music! It is very classy looking.As expected, quality lamp, nice wide coverage.I own this and decided to purchase a second lamp. When I received the lamp it does not look like the picture. The neck is not rounded but squared making less space to turn pages. The first lamp I purchased also had A quality on/off switch on the lamp itself. This new model has a switch wire in the back of the lamp make it very inconvenient to access. I thought it was a mistake so I called House Of Troy and they told me this was the new model .I sent it back.
