I absolutely love this lamp! It has the touch-on/touch-off button, and a touch-mode button. When you touch The power button it automatically turns on to the lowest lighting if you touch it again it brings it up medium lighting, and if you touch it a third time it brings it up to the highest brightest setting. If you touch it one more time it shuts off. The M button which I assume stands for mode, takes you through several different light shades, yellowish all the way to bright white. I love the options! The only thing that I wish was a little different is the height of the lamp. I do wish it was a little shorter (you bend it up to use the lighting, or bend it down to close if you wish, when not in use, although I don’t always), but when you bend it up - which it pretty much has to be, in order to make use of - its very tall. Maybe close to 24 inches. But what I notice is it makes it sort of top-heavy if you will. So if you don’t have it on a sturdy flat surface like a desk or table or bureau, it is very hard to keep it standing up it falls over. I took it onto my bed the other day to do my make up and that was not successful at all! I have a similar light, about half the height of this one, that I use on my bed, to apply my make up, & it works perfectly! And I think the only difference is that, that light is not as tall (1/2 the height of this light at least), which makes it, not so “top-heavy”, so it does not tend to tip over. This light, I can’t get to stay up, on the bed/soft surface). But that’s the only thing! If you place this light on a desk, table, or flat/hard surface, it is perfect! Plus, there are so many options, that I absolutely adore it. You will too. Thank you so much Amazon!
