My wife likes the Gel cured nail polish, but hasn’t used it all that much because of the curing times (I guess, I know nothing about them, actually). But when I mentioned this curing machine to her, she encouraged me to get it, so of course I did. Now she and our daughter have nail parties!It’s small (less than 6’x6’ and less than 3 inches high), yet there is still plenty of room to place your hand inside without bumping your fingertips (so no smudged nails). There are a lot of LED Emitters inside the box (sides and top, see included picture) with a mirrored and removable bottom to reflect the emitted light all around for an even cure). The removable part is so you can easily clean the inside of the emitter box (though I don’t know how it’s going to get dirty so as to need cleaning – though I suppose you could hit one of the emitters with an uncured nail).I was a bit concerned with baking my wife’s hand (not my hand as I don’t think I’ll ever use it), but apparently the intensity of the UV light is not all that high so that the gel is cured way before your hand is. Even so, just put some sunscreen on before you paint your nails and you’ll take care of that unlikely issue. At least it didn’t bother my wife, and she burns easily. The printed instructions indicate to be sure not to look at the opening when the lamps are operated. They also say that you need to use the correct UV/LED polish to match the machine. What does that mean? I’m assuming that it means that you have to use an UV curable polish and not the standard polish that you have to wait to dry (which makes sense as this isn’t a heater).You choose the correct time for the lights to be active (depending on the color layer, base coat or top coat layer). You’ll have to fiddle with the time for each specific polish you’re using as they are all different, but the options you have are generally the correct times (just add a longer time and then pull your hand out when it’s ready based on your experience). The machine starts automatically when you insert your hand. The salesite says that there are four time options, but the machine I have has only the on/off button and three timer buttons (15, 30, and 60 seconds). The power supply is an AC/DC block and it fits in the machine cavity for storage.
