For people who are used to incondesint lighting you will not like this style of lighting. LED lighting usually has a very focused beam of light and a halo effect around it that is actually quite bright but just not compared to the beam. If you just consider battery life alone it is more than worth the difference. I do have this light mounted to a hard hat and have dropped it several times. I feel it will hold up to the abuse I will dish out. The mounting clip is a little loose but a little bending tightened it right up.
