I read the reviews on many lamps, including this one, prior to purchasing. There was such a mix, I wasn't sure if I should purchase it or not, but decent blue desk lamps with good lighting are hard to find. This one has a touch light, which I didn't remembering reading honestly, but works great! Plenty of LED light that spreads nice and wide on your work surface. You have several dimming options depending on the number of times you touch it; my kiddo loves this feature. The cups are deep enough to hold pens, pencils, full size or kid size scissors, etc.As for the ipod feature, this will largely depend on what you are looking for. This lamp holds the ipod (or whatever product you have) and connects to the lamp via headphone jack. The speakers are decent as the expectation is your are sitting at the desk listening to it, not trying to host a rave. You will likely have to play with the volume on your ipod as this lamp is just a speaker so if you don't hear anything upon initial plug in, that could be the issue. We turned ours all the way down and then went up from there for the right level as you would any speaker function. The ONE unfortunate thing for us is that this lamp does NOT charge the ipod but we knew this going in from reading other reviews. It would be good if the product description let buyers in on this.A bright lamp with a cool touch-sensor on switch.Not 5-Star for two reasons: Speakers are not loud enough - my S4 mini's phone speaker can almost match the volume emitted by the iHome Speaker. That said, iHome has a good bass.The touch-screen on/off switch can get a bit finicky - not responsive at times and taking multiple attempts to reach the desired output.Very easy to use and bright light. Speaker is not loud as expected. Good for compact desks. color is very sharp.
