I didn’t buy these for a car or RV. I bought them for some wooden post lights I made using the housings from some cheap solar lights. I really liked the solar lights’ metal and glass housings, but the small solar panels are plastic and quickly cloud over resulting in non-functioning lights within a couple of months.I used one of the four-LED panels in each walkway light. The lights are dimmable and run fine off of 12 volt AC landscape transformer. I have two 200-watt landscape transformers, one on each side of my house, to light up the backyard. I use nothing but 12 volt DC LED bulbs, LED COB lights, LED strip lights, LED fairy lights, and now these. Although they are all advertised as 12 volt DC, they all work fine running off of 12 volt AC landscape transformer.These panels can also be remote controlled. I purchased my RF remotes for under $2 each shipped, including an LED controller/dimmer as shown in the picture. The remotes work on anything between 5 – 30 volts. I use the same remotes for 5 volt under cabinet USB LED lights I have in my garage. They have USB connectors on the controller wires instead of just bare wires. They work great for being such cheap remotes. They are very useful for low voltage LED projects.I tested a panel on my bench power supply to see what the actual wattage is. Each panel uses about 176ma at 12 volts. A little over two watts per panel. The panels are very bright, but the color temp is whiter than I like. Wish they had these in a warm white.I also opened one panel up (see picture). Inside is a very simple circuit of two 2438 LED’s on each side that are wired in series with two current limiting resistors. The resistors drop 6 volts, leaving 3 volts to each LED per side. The two sides are wired in parallel.The only issue I had with these lights is that the wires are very short if you want to use the panels separately like I did, and the wires appear to be aluminum instead of copper. I also expected some heat issues, but they remain barely warm to the touch.For the price, highly recommended for any 12 volt project, AC or DC.
